I was surfing the internet when I saw this word. It bugged me enough to make a silly thread. Anyways, this is the word that I came across.
Word: floccinaucinihilipilification
It is a: noun
Pronounced: flok-suh-naw-suh-nahy-hil-uh-pil-uh-fi-key-shuhn
Definition: the estimation of something as valueless
Thinking it was all a lie, I checked it up on dictionary.com. It's true, it is a real word.
We are probably wondering, 'Hm, I wonder who came up with that!' So this is a big pondering thread.
Here is another thought. 'Half, Half-empty, and Half-full.' They mean the same, but why is are the other two word there?
A story a family member told me because I asked why gold is worth so much. It is very strange how he told it, yet very fulfilling.
'Back in the day, people would trade their goods in a market. An example would be... "Hey I want that chicken." So the trader would ask what they had. "I have these crops."
But the sad thing was that the trader could say, "Nah I don't want it." People really wanted to get items but they had nothing of value to trade for. So the 'oldie' government thought this through.
So they thought of gold. Gold was used as money so if the buyer could not trade for the item, they can use gold. Another reason was that gold was not used for anything. Iron was used for weapons. So gold is really valuable because it is useless.'
Doesn't that strike you of, 'Why would something so stupid be so expensive?'
Have pondering facts? Then share the mysteries in this thread! Can I ask you all a favor though? Can you not give opinions of how you think it happened please? It ruins the mystery, and should be left alone until scientists feel the need to find an answer. Then they just ruins the whole fantasy of it and piles it up with facts.
TIME TO PONDER THE MIND (if you like to contribute some weird phenomenons in this world!)
